Disparity hangs above me like a fog, lightly clouding my way.
Dreams and hope are my compass but with time are slowly fading.
The dampness clings to every part of my being.
Dragging me lower and lower into the mud.
Snow steps lay behind me while I create my journey forward.
For what I wonder?
For a goal?
For a desire?
For a love that could never be?
To many questions fly around my mind like moths to light.
This accursed land takes my mind to memories and dreams that push my heart to the brink of Destiny's plan.
While my mind's rationality points to all it's faults.
A war on both fronts are beginning to tear me apart.
With an aching heart and vertigo sending my mind into a tizzy.
I reach for the vile that hangs from my neck filled with ink.
It rests against my heart because it cursed me.
So I must hold onto it like a religious prophecy.
For if I do not.
The darkness, the fear, and the pain will choke my heart.
Leaving my flesh as a regret staining God's creation.
