The HousewifeA Different Eye
25 Jun 2014
She stands at the edge
With soap swirled in water
Washing dishes like every day before
She looks out the window in the wilderness
Leaving her feminine mystique behind
Anxiety and freed flutters her heart
When possibilities seemed endless
But when she comes back distant screams of children echo behind her
She turns to see nothing and her heart crumbles
Distant memories pass by like a reel of her life
She turns back washing them away
Her emptiness consumes her thoughts of different futures playing with her imagination like light through a crystal glass
Chances lost and forgotten
Given up with a heart of love even with a path set in stone
She chose it anyway
Feelings of anger, sadness, and love bubble in a pot
Like every Tuesday's stew
Splattering all over her place of work
She turns the heat down
Letting it simmer quietly
Like the years of suppression
She takes off her gloves and hangs them in order
She turns the light off
Like another chapter in her life
Only for the next day to continue like the rest.
