Staring at an orange gloom
To a light far away
Shadows of the night
Crawling over the shoulders
Of the one who wonders
Street lights igniting desire
The thought of running free
Is brought down by fear
But a hope stares him in the face
To give up now rips him to shreds
As he runs he pulls at the flesh
That holds him to this world
To escape is the stars above
Laughing loudly above
Power that lingers grips the darkness
Becoming light to a world
Beyond his mind
"A new world!", he screams
Bouncing and jolting
Towards the orange gloom
Defiance and perseverance rain
Never forgetting what he had
Until he falls into the ground
That brought life to so many
But devours him
To take everything
Fighting he rips free
Allowing dreams to be real
A king he has become
Destined to roam free
Like before.
